Renovation of an educational facility in Greenville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 125,504-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following
1. The renovation to the existing sawtooth bay construction along the north elevation of the Jenkins Art Building. This renovation includes the removal and replacement of the break metal siding, hollow metal and glass curtain wall frames, and associated sheathing and insulation products. Reconstruction will consist of new structural support framing, cold form metal framed infill, new sheathing and insulation products, new weather barrier, new standing seam metal cladding, and new thermally broken curtain wall systems with insulated glazing units.
2. The construction schedule shall provide this time as an independent activity that occurs sequentially in the construction phase. All contractors shall participate in commissioning these specific building systems in accordance with the project specifications. If retesting of the buildings systems is required due to the fault of the contractor, the contractor shall be responsible for all costs associated with the retesting.
3. Project shall include the removal and abatement of all existing hazardous materials per the Hazardous Materials Assessment Report and Specifications as included within this Specification Manual.
